Overlook (IMDb, Letterboxd) is a 2022 short film directed by Greta Guthrie & Jake Lazarow. I had a great time serving as 2nd Assistant Camera during the film’s 4-day shoot in State College Pennsylvania, where most of the crew had met in the years prior via the Penn State film program.
When the film moved to post-production, I rolled up my sleeves and got to Sound Design-ing. Jake & Greta had a vision for the soundscape in many parts of the film; I added my own creative flairs throughout as I additionally wove the dialogue tracks, room tone, foley, and music together.
Overlook has gone on to screen in several festivals, even bringing home hardware such as Best Ensemble Cast, and nominations for Best Actor and Best Drama. Thanks to Greta & Jake for having me onboard, both on set and in post!
